Odds and Ends Friday July 30, 2010

Today is truly an odds and ends day here on the blog. Not sure how to tie this all in. We have Bean Heads, a Pilot in Love, Gold Coast Australia, Spring Flowers and a Confetti Birthday Party. Perhaps we can say that the bean heads are in love with a pilot from Australia, where beautiful spring flowers are in bloom. Today is the pilot's birthday which we all are invited to this celebration.

Vintage Madam Malaria Mosquito Skateboard from Zazzle.com

It takes a special talent to make a great looking skateboard. In my shop Sandyspider Gifts, I have only made a handful of skateboards. That is because my images may look good on postcards and other items, they might not be ideal for skateboards.

Some Zazzlers only made skateboard designs and they really have fantastic graphics. Madam Malaria Mosquito had that look, I knew would be an awesome design on a skateboard. What do you think.

Nature in All Its Glory – Friday July 16, 2010

View all natures’ treasures that can be added to postcards, mousepads or invitations. Collect your nature and summer photos and add them to the Hawaiian Sunset Binder. Snap away small fragments of life’s memories. Remember those travel experiences, from the Pacific coast sunset off the Big Island of Hawaii to the beautiful sunset of Queensland, Australia. Don’t forget that rock formation standing so proudly out the sea.

Spotting perfection in a lonely flower, speaks louder than words can say. Find the nature in a soft pastel painting of a Beech Marten prowling on a branch.

In the glory of all the nature, we must not let life throw us that curve ball. Instead we must enjoy what we have and grab our gloves.

Vintage Skeleton Keds Shoes for Men

Not too many Keds shoes have been made for men, but this design seemed to jump out as something a guy would want to wear. It is designed for the Keds Hi and Lo tops.

Skeletons are lining the streets wearing costumes. Some are carrying blooded knifes. Who did they kill? Are these the living dead? This illustration dates back to 1910.

Food, Cows and Kangaroos - Friday July 9, 2010

Outdoor grilling with hamburgers and hot dogs is a sure sign of summer. Make the picnic or party complete with some vegetables. After receiving the few links and taking from the RM discussion, I found a similarity. This Friday is a theme lens after all. It is about food, farm life and Kangaroos.

For five weeks starting the first Wednesday in July, the RocketMoms are taking the challenge of writing recipe lenses to be added to the online RocketMoms cookbook. It doesn’t surprise me to see that the links are about food.

We know that cows are a food source. Kangaroo meat was in the news some years ago. One of the fast food restaurants in the United States got caught adding kangaroo meat from Australia. This was cheaper then the grade of beef they were using.

Enjoy this fun selection.

Food on Zazzle

Without food where would we be? Why does fattening, sugary, heart stopping food so good taste? Is it OK to eat a bag of snack size candy in one sitting? After all, each one is so small. Sure your answers here!

Often when I write a food article it takes some searching to find the right picture, unless I took that picture myself. Using pictures with your affiliate link make better sense than just uploading a picture. I used Allposters in much of my work, until they changed the payout rules recently. Postcards and posters are an excellent substitute for pictures for your articles. If someone buys off your link, 15% commission goes to you and the Zazzle shop keeper gets paid to, making this a win-win situation.

Recently added some food items to my Zazzle shop in the Is It Edible? product line. Find more food items in Chocoholics Unite! Of course if you are on a picnic make sure you have plenty of bug spray to get rid of those pesky Spiders and Insects.

Below are the newest food items from the Is It Edible line. See what else is in there. Click on the images and links to go to the products.

Sandy Mertens, (also known as Sandyspider, sandyspiderbite and SandyM online, plus a few others not listed). Began online as an internet marketer and soon found a passion for writing. An online writer and researcher who enjoys photography, art, graphics art, web design and working on blogging.

Looking for a change of career, Sandy opened up her first website http://www.ebooktreesaver.com . With a premade template, she soon used this as a guide to learn HTML and create all her websites from scratch. The eBook site does not look anything like the original one.

A website directory was created to show where to find Sandy, http://www.sandyspider.com/ This directory is a work in process and has only a portion of where she can be found.

Discovering the creative side, she opened up several CafePress shops. A year later opened up her first Zazzle shop. She now has two shops:

Her designs can also be found on http://www.3drose.com under Sandy Mertens on 3Drose.. These designs are on Amazon. Type in the product listed from the website or her name in Amazon to find these products.
